as much as riding and shooting with friends is fun, sometimes somethings go wrong. an overshot jump can send people over the bars. it is never fun to see your friend land face first on the bike, well sometimes if it is a small accident. However the moment you know somethings wrong, it's time to get the wider lens, you can get more dramatical shots with it.
